Breast is Best

Despite numerous request that my son remain solely breastfed it has come to my families attention that DHS has repeatedly allowed foster parents to poison my sons system repeatedly with infant formula.

They must not realize that infants that are formula fed are at:

Higher risk of lung infections. Children who are formula fed are 16.7 times more likely to have pneumonia
than children who were given only breastmilk as infants. Our son has had RSV and lung infections while in foster care.

Higher risk of ear infections. Studies show that infants who are formula fed are 50% more likely to have
ear infections than babies who receive only breastmilk. Our son has had two inner ear infections since being in CPS's care.

Higher risk of infection from contaminated formula. Babies have become very sick and some have died because of harmful germs  in formula. Some formulas cannot be sterilized. I'd attribute this to why my son has constantly been sick in foster care but I've also seen the toys that are at the DHS office.

Higher risk of chronic diseases. Formula feeding is linked to higher risk  for Type 1 diabetes and bowel diseases such as celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. As if my son hasn't had enough medical conditions to deal with lets go ahead and make sure to link him to possibly more.

Risk of lower intelligence. Studies show that children who are breastfed do better on intelligence tests  than children who were formula fed. So, when that SAT comes back lower than need be we know who to blame.

Higher risk of effects of environmental poisons. Breastfeeding lowers the harmful effects
on a child’s health from poisons in the environment like PCBs and dioxins. Children who are breastfed do better on tests for brain development than formula fed children. Ah, back to brain development must not be something DHS is concerned about in infant development.

Higher risk of allergy. Formula feeding is linked to higher  incidence of eczema, allergies to food,
inherited allergies and allergies which  affect breathing such as hay fever. Maybe, this is why our son always has eczema on his cheeks and forehead.

Higher risk of asthma. Medical studies show that babies who  are fed formula are 40 – 50% more likely to have asthma or wheezing. Genetically predisposed for asthma why not push that his way some more.

Higher risk of heart disease. A study shows that breastfeeding may help to reduce the risk of heart disease
by keeping cholesterol levels low later in life. It also showed that 13 to 16 year olds who were formula fed have higher blood pressures than children who had received breastmilk. Who needs to reduce their risk of heart disease and keep their cholesterol low?

Higher risk of death  from diseases. Babies who are formula fed have a higher risk of death due to illnesses such as diarrhea and lung infections. Not only is my son now at a higher risk for lung infections etc.. but he also is at a higher risk to die from them.

Higher risk of obesity. Research is showing that children who are formula fed are nearly 40% more
likely to be obese than children who are breastfed – even after looking at other things that may explain why a person may be overweight. Our son has become overweight since being placed into foster care, this could be attributed to the formula bottles he has been given.

Higher risk of  childhood cancers. Research shows that children who have not been breastfed are more likely to get leukemia and other cancers than children who were given only breastmilk. An infant that was already diagnosed with neonatal rickets has been given formula that can increase his likelihood of getting leukemia. Something that is already genetically in his family history.

Higher risk of diarrhea. Studies show that babies who are formula fed are twice as likely to have diarrhea than breastfed babies. Probably has something to do with the fact that formula really isn't hydrating infants.

Research shows that formula feeding increases the risk of getting diabetes later in life. Again predisposed genetically yet DHS decides to step in and increase our sons chances.

When mothers do not breastfeed they generally use infant formulas.

It is recommended by the
World Health Organization that parents are told about the health risks of using formula.

Any organization that is in the best interest of the child would not be willing to put an infant at risk to so many things if breast milk is available.
